The Illinois Renaissance Festival(IRF) was established in 2003. The Festival is a division of Prairie Players Theater Academy, Inc. a nonprofit 501(c3) performing arts organization.  Festival actively seeks out local and national period themed entertainers and artisans to be included in our Festival.

Festival Features
The Festival provides an atmosphere of olde world experience with merchants selling their handmade wares, exotic foods to taste, impromptu performances, dancing and costumed entertainers performing all day long.

Volunteers are the very backbone of an event of this size.  Without our noble staff of volunteers, we would not be able to put on the quality of show that we desire. Volunteers are needed in nearly every aspect of the Festival.  From behind the scenes: carpenters, painters, and builders. To people who deal more with the public: box office personnel, greeters, and assisting with setup of the Village and fence.  As well as helping take down the Village when the Festival is over.

No Experience is necessary…just a willingness to help.

Interested individuals please contact the Festival Director.  Your skills and interests will be matched with our volunteer needs.  Individuals who participate must have a picture ID and attend the Volunteer Orientation meeting before the Festival opens.

Everyone is Welcome!
